True to the previous releases from Arno E. Mathieu’s Contemplation Project, « Mistral Durance » is nothing but a tribute to a typical phenomenon in Provence. A tribute to one of the most iconic expression of nature that has influenced our lives, inspired our culture, literature or poetry like a mythological hero in this region of the south of France.

It could be the one that stir the most dangerous fires, or the one who makes possible the most beautiful sunny blue sky ever. The one that blow away all the rainy clouds, creating the perfect conditions for the olive trees cultures, when the sun can irradiate the ground with its warm rays.

From the smallest warm breeze of a summer day until the strongest cold raft of a winter afternoon, the Mistral wind is like a natural divinity that everyone has learnt to accept and fear, a character in the history of our lives.

It is also the wind that offers us at a special moment of the spring season, at a special place, the most beautiful sunset on our Durance river, making the clearest sky ever, when the sun goes down in the river like a circle of fire sinking in a golden path.

For all these reasons, Arno has imagined 2 different versions representing each other the strongest raft in his « Rafale » version and the warmest breeze, of course in the « Brise » version, illustrating the wind’s strength with sounds, textures & effects. Therefore, you will ear the clarinet modulations and guitare riffs like the whistling of the wind over the running drums and the strong bass line, supported by spaced synth arpegios, sharped Rhodes chords and anthemic lead them...

Simoncino remixes are all about analog synth jam and old school drum machine combines all together in a really 90’s Italian Balearic vibe true to the thematic of the original Arno’s versions, and hosting a special guest with legendary House Singer Robert Owens for talk over / whispering performance.
